Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Is a structured, time-limited psychotherapy that aims to identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behaviour. It is based on the concept that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, and that changing negative thoughts can lead to changes in feelings and behaviours. CBT is commonly used to treat anxiety, depression, and a wide range of other mental health disorders. It involves techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioural activation, and exposure therapy.

Schema Therapy

Is an integrative psychotherapy combining elements of cognitive-behavioural therapy, psychoanalytic therapy, attachment theory, and emotion-focused therapy. It was developed by Dr. Jeffrey Young to treat personality disorders and chronic mental health issues. Schema Therapy focuses on identifying and changing deeply ingrained patterns or themes (schemas) that develop during childhood or adolescence and are reinforced throughout life. It helps clients recognize their schemas, understand their impact on current behaviour, and develop healthier coping mechanisms.

Child Psychology

Our child psychology services focus on helping children manage emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges in a supportive and understanding environment. Our clinicians provide evidence-based assessments and therapy to address concerns such as anxiety, low mood, behavioural regulation, attention difficulties, and social or family issues. Working closely with parents, caregivers, and schools, we aim to create a collaborative approach that nurtures each child’s wellbeing, fosters resilience, and promotes positive emotional growth.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Is a form of psychotherapy that uses acceptance and mindfulness strategies, along with commitment and behaviour-change strategies, to increase psychological flexibility. ACT encourages individuals to accept unpleasant thoughts and feelings rather than fighting or feeling guilty for having them. It emphasises living in accordance with one's values and taking action to move towards a more meaningful life. Key processes in ACT include acceptance, cognitive defusion, being present, self as context, values, and committed action.

Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

Is a comprehensive cognitive-behavioural treatment developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan for individuals with borderline personality disorder and other conditions involving emotional dysregulation. DBT combines standard cognitive-behavioural techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness derived from Buddhist meditative practice. It consists of four modules: mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.

Couple Therapy Sessions

Our couple therapy sessions are based on the Gottman Method, a scientifically-backed approach to relationship counselling. These sessions aim to improve relationship dynamics, enhance communication, and resolve conflicts, helping couples build lasting, loving relationships.

Problem Gambling Treatment

The founder of The Phoenix Health Clinic, Dr. Jaymee-Lee Chebli, has written her thesis on the subject of Problem Gambling and developed an Internet-based treatment platform. This innovative platform provided accessible and effective support for individuals struggling with problem gambling, offering them the tools and guidance they needed to regain control and improve their quality of life.

We are committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where clients can embark on their journey of self-discovery and personal growth. Whether you are seeking to address specific psychological issues or improve your relationship, The Phoenix Health Clinic is here to guide and support you every step of the way.

Trauma

Our trauma-focused therapy supports individuals who have experienced distressing or life-altering events. Using evidence-based approaches such as trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT) and Schema, our psychologists help clients process painful memories, reduce symptoms of anxiety or hyper-arousal, and restore a sense of safety and control. We work collaboratively to build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and foster post-traumatic growth within a compassionate and confidential environment.

Adolescent Anxiety and Depression

Our adolescent psychology services provide tailored support for young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, or emotional distress. Through a combination of cognitive-behavioural therapy, mindfulness strategies, and family-inclusive interventions, we help adolescents understand and manage their emotions, build healthy coping mechanisms, and improve self-esteem. We work closely with families to create a nurturing framework that promotes emotional wellbeing during this pivotal stage of development.

Fertility Issues and Post-Partum Depression

Our psychologists offer compassionate support for individuals and couples navigating the emotional challenges of fertility difficulties, pregnancy loss, and post-partum depression. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore grief, anxiety, and adjustment to parenthood. Therapy focuses on reducing distress, enhancing emotional connection, and promoting psychological recovery, while helping clients strengthen their sense of identity and resilience during one of life’s most vulnerable transitions.

Weight-Loss Psychology

Our weight-management psychology services focus on the emotional, psychological and behavioural factors that influence eating habits, motivation, and self-image. We use cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based approaches to help clients develop healthier relationships with food, manage stress, and sustain positive lifestyle changes. Our goal is to empower individuals to achieve lasting wellbeing and confidence through balanced, compassionate self-care.

Pain Management

Our pain management psychology services help individuals cope with the emotional and cognitive impacts of chronic pain. Through evidence-based approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based stress reduction, clients learn to reduce distress, increase functioning, and improve quality of life. We collaborate with medical professionals to provide holistic care that addresses both the physical and psychological dimensions of pain.

Clinical Psychology Sessions

We offer individual therapy sessions, both Face-to-Face and Telehealth, to help clients manage and overcome various mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. Our clinical psychologists utilise evidence-based practices to ensure effective and compassionate care. We also provide bulk-billing options to ensure high-quality psychological care is accessible to everyone. Some of the therapies we specialise in include:

We are committed to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where clients can embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.
